history

Founded in 1993, New Works is an innovative organization unique to Vancouver. Formed by a small collective who wanted to explore their passion for the arts, and inspired by the wealth of talent and innovative ideas in Vancouver's arts community, New Works was incorporated as a not-for-profit society to produce and present contemporary performance-based work.

Since its inception New Works has grown to become a dynamic arts organization, making a significant contribution to Vancouver's arts community. We've developed strong, productive working relationships with dance artists and community partners, and worked with artistic directors to move their organizations from project-based to fully sustainable operations.

New Works has created opportunities for all sorts of dance artists to perform in professional venues for enthusiastic and welcoming audiences, and has dedicated resources to mentorship and project management.
