Into the Tao is a new work by Kim Sato, created in collaboration with Heather Laura Gray, that features the street dance collective Project Soul. This BC Arts Council supported project explores the intriguing mind of a freestyle street dancer in the heart clenching moments of a battle. The choreographic work will journey into a street dancer’s emotions during various stages of battle; anticipation, conflicting internal dialogues, and the release, surrender and acceptance once all is over.
Into the Tao highlights the talents of Vancouver’s most renowned and highly skilled street dancers, who are accustomed to pushing their bodies to extreme physical limits. This entertaining and poignant work features soundscapes by Reuben Avery and represents the next chapter for Project Soul.
Audiences won’t want to miss the opportunity to witness these incredible dancers as they imaginatively push themselves outside their physical and creative boundaries. Their mission is to continually inspire as many SOULS through their love and passion for street dance culture.
